AWE is women-only to make it easier for women to show up authentically; with others genuinely cheering you on, women report experiencing a real boost of confidence and receive a higher level of quality referrals than coed networking environments.
Being a female entrepreneur can be lonely but for many women, the term networking evokes a superficial, soulless exchange of cards that rarely leads to genuine new connections — or business.
AWE’s meeting format fosters an intimate environment where busy women business owners share the juggle and the struggle of running a business. Relax, “let your hair down,” and say what you want unfiltered while sharing some laughs with fellow entrepreneurs.
Female-only networking leads to new friendships, collaborations, professional knowledge, client acquisition and sales.
AWE does not include multi-level marketing in its membership as we focus on supporting local female founders and owners of locally run businesses. This means the business owner sells her own products or services, sets her own rates or prices and creates her own brand, content and marketing.
We do allow businesses that leverage resources from a larger corporate entity but the business owner must hold a license to practice (ie: a real estate agent) or own a franchise. You must be a member of AWE to access our member directory, and we do not allow soliciting or recruiting of any kind to our membership.
