While our country continues to experience unprecedented national turbulence and an uncertain financial outlook, we remain truly grateful for all the wonderful milestones and events that made 2018 a banner year for AWE – and look to the year ahead full of optimism and excitement.
From our selection as an Arlington, VA Chamber of Commerce Best Business Award winner to being recognized for our efforts on behalf of women and diversity with a James B. Hunter Human Rights Award, we were honored and proud to accept these accolades on behalf of all the incredible women business owners that make AWE such a unique community, and who make the places where we live and work so special.
We continued to build chapters throughout the DC region in 2018, led by awesome leaders like:
We also went west, launching a North LA chapter led by the awesome Jennifer Buzza and Liz Zamudio. This month, we’ll launch a new Old Town, Alexandria chapter led by DeDee Cai and Lydia Michalitsianos and a Denver, Colorado chapter led by Teena Evert – thank you all for your leadership and support of fellow women entrepreneurs!
Our renamed 6-month Mastermind Program kicks off again this month, with a peer-led group of entrepreneurs working together to take their businesses to the next level. It’s not too late to join: check out this amazing program here facilitated to expert business coach Maura Fredericks, and reach out to program alumni to hear their stories of growth and success.
As we begin a new year of monthly networking events where our members connect, collaborate and support one another; our weekly radio show and podcast highlighting the incredible journeys and lessons shared by successful entrepreneurs; and our Mastermind program that has helped dozens of AWE members surpass even their own ambitious goals; we invite you to join us and embrace the AWE mantra:
Always hire, partner with and/or refer fellow AWE members first and whenever possible: women supporting women is the way we will all grow, thrive and have the best year ever in 2019 – so go #beawesome!
